Memex at the [MC]2 2014 Conference

Memex Automation will be attending the MTConnect Conference, [MC]2 , which will be held April 8 – 10, 2014, in Orlando, FL at the Caribe Royal Orlando.
Memex will be at booth #10.

MTConnect Institute is compiling a world-class roster of manufacturing technology thought leaders and industry insiders for the upcoming [MC]2 conference, which will be packed with timely insights, strategic views, and actionable items.

The theme for 2014 is “Advancing Data-Driven Manufacturing.”

Memex will be giving two presentations:

Date: Wednesday April 9, 2014
Time: 1:30 pm – 2:15 pm
Presentation: MTConnecting Your Income Statement

Dave McPhail, President and CEO of Memex Automation and Dave Edstrom, former President of the MTConnect Institute and current CTO of Memex Automation, will discuss how the holy grail in manufacturing is not just about getting the data via MTConnect and having a shop floor monitoring dashboard in place.  The true holy grail is the ability to associate and correlate MTConnect data with the financial costing data contained within most manufacturer’s ERP systems, as well as to quantify and display real-time dashboards that shows the cost of poor performance in real-time in dollars and cents.  This allows for the first time the ability for the manufacturing operations team to understand the absolute true cost of manufacturing minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day anytime on any device.  Important and timely decisions can now be made to increase income from operations by these new and important derived metrics, thereby achieving true manufacturing excellence.

Date: Wednesday April 9, 2014
Time: 5 pm – 5:30 pm
Presentation: Manufacturing and Scaling Big Data

Dave Edstrom, former President of the MTConnect Institute and current CTO of Memex Automation, will speak of the multiple laws that all come together to provide the foundation of his talk.  These laws are O’Dell’s Law, Groundwater’s Law, Moore’s Law, Metcalfe’s Law, and of course you cannot give a presentation if you do not try to coin a law yourself, so I include Edstrom’s MTConnect Law.   This talk will address the future technical and business challenges of manufacturing and scaling big data.

So come on by booth #10 to visit Memex Automation, and be sure to check out the Mazak (#15), Okuma (#28) and the MTConnect Institute (#19) booths as well.
